Toyota|Lexus Reflash list

Updated: Aug 14, 2018

Back at 1997 Lexus and Toyota decided to take security measures up a notch so instead of cutting a key and programming it via OBDII they require to take half the car apart and get to the ECU disassemble it and flash the correct chip.

It definitely made it more secure because if someone wanted to steal it, it would take them a few hours and in that time they can get caught.

However, it made the price of getting a new key made for your car a lot more expensive.

Dealers charge a lot for a new key and when I say a lot.....its means A LOT!

But don't worry, at Keys and Locksmith Corona we can help out.

I will list the make and models that require this procedure to be done on here:

Lexus

2001 IS300

1998 – 2001 ES300

1998 – 2001 GS300

1998 – 2000 GS400

1998 – 2000 LX470

1999 – 2003 RX300

1998 – 2000 SC300

1998 – 2000 SC400

1997 – 2000 LS400

Toyota

1998 – 2004 Avalon

1998 – 2000 4-Runner

1998 – 2001 Camry

2010 FJ Cruiser

2001 – 2003 Highlander

2000 – 2005 MR2

2000 – 2003 Prius (these cost more since it requires a lot of work to get to the ECU)

2001 – 2003 RAV4

2003 – 2007 Sequoia

1999 – 2003 Sienna

1998 – 2006 Solara

1998 – 2000 Land cruiser

At Keys and Locksmith Corona, we can also flash the system for you if you ship it to us or we can come to you if you are local. If we come out to you, we pull out the ECU ourselves, flash the system and program new keys.
